In the last few years the usage rate of PowerDVD’s 3D media playback features, and the available technical support from its hardware companies, have gradually declined (e.g. the drivers and OS compatibility maintenance were dropped by related companies). Because of this, it has been difficult for CyberLink to keep supporting the 3D media playback features in PowerDVD. Although we’d like to continue supporting 3D playback features in our programs, it is unfortunately no longer feasible.

Therefore we are reluctant to announce that we’ve decided to cease the 3D media playback features in all new versions of PowerDVD, including the latest version 20 and any future patch-updated versions released after April 2020 (new patches applied to versions 19 and below). We will be reassigning the freed up resources towards the research and development of newer playback features.

The 3D media playback features, including 3D video file playback, TrueTheater 3D, 3D-DVD, Blu-ray 3D, etc. will be no longer be supported in new versions of CyberLink PowerDVD (released after Apr. 2020).

If you’d still like to use the 3D media playback functions in PowerDVD, please stay with your current version (released before April 2020) by not updating the program. You should also not update your operating system and graphics driver versions that are currently compatible with 3D media playback. Or consult with your 3D media content providers and playback device companies for other available playback solutions.
